Warriors Fall Short in 2010 MPFL Championship

The undefeated San Antonio Warriors and undefeated Wichita Falls Vipers faced each other for the first time in the 2010 MPFL Championship Game on June 12th, 2010. The Vipers quickly took advantage of many San Antonio Warriors mistakes and decisively delivered the Warriors their 6th loss in team history.

The Vipers win kept them undefeated in their inaugural season which matches the feat accomplished by the Warriors in their inaugural season in 2004.

The Warriors thank their fans and Somerset, TX for their support and congratulate the Wichita Falls Vipers on their championship and look forward to meeting them on the field again.

Warriors and Vipers Top 2 In The Nation

The SemiPro BCS National Ranking System was established in 2008 to rank Minor League / Semi Pro Football Organizations throughout the nation.

Since May 29, 2010 the San Antonio Warriors and Wichita Falls Vipers have been ranked as the top two teams in the nation. The Warriors held the top spot for the weeks of May 22nd and May 29th. The Warriors and Vipers were both victorious in their playoff games last week but, since the Vipers defeated a higher ranked team, the BCS rated the Viper's win higher. As of June 5th the Vipers move to the number 1 spot moving the Warriors to number 2.

The ratings for the Warriors and Vipers are virtually identical with about 1 point separating the two. This makes this weekend's championship game even more important for both teams. The winner will hold the #1 spot in the nation.

3 Warriors Earn NMLF Top 25 Defenders

Congratulations to three Warriors for being named DEEP END SPORTS - TOP 25 Defenders in the NMLF.  The three named are:

Ronnie Nunn - DE (Nunn has a great knack for being around the football. He runs well enough to make sideline plays, and is strong at the point of attack.)

Shawn Litton - CB (Fast and physical, Litton thrives in press coverage, and can shadow any WR in the league.)

Anthony Amoo - DE (Sure the SA offense gets all of the pub, but Amoo and his mates on D can play. A classic long striding DE, Amoo is never caught out of position.)

4 Warriors Earn NMLF Offense Top 20

Congratulations to four Warriors for being named DEEP END SPORTS - TOP 20 Offensive Skill players in the NMLF.  The four named are:

Stephen James - QB (Speed, release, and accuracy, James leads the most potent offense in the NMLF today)

Dale Kindred - WR (The Steve Smith of our league has another gear most only dream of, and he is the best kick returner in the business)

Joe Gonzalez - RB (Speedy back can catch and run inside, and gives The Warriors great balance on offense)

Eric Rice - TE (Rice is dangerous in the middle of the field, which forces opponents to cover the seam and sideline as well)
